WHEN IS THE SEASON?

The preseason starts in April and we will have a few practices and fun camp-outs during the spring.  Regular practices start June 1st for high school athletes and early July for jr. devos (junior high).  There are three jr. devo and high school races from mid-August to the end of September.  The highs school athletes have one additional race in October and then state championships over UEA weekend.  See the calendar for details.

WHAT ARE PRACTICES LIKE?

The practices are usually 2 hours long.  A typical practice looks like this:

  • Team meeting (10 min): explain plan for the day, safety meeting, bike inspection,

  • Warm up (20 min),

  • Skills or workout (80 min),

  • Cool down (5 min),

  • Props/team meeting (5 min).

We usually practice at High Star, but practices will also be help at the Oakely Trails and other nearby areas.

AS A PARENT, HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED?

We love to have more ride leaders.  You need to be able to commit to a few rides a month and get your NICA level 1 certification.  This simply requires a background check and a 1 hour of online course.  We will offer an in-house clinic to help parents be comfortable ride leaders (May 17-18).  If you do not bike, we can still find a place for you. Contact the head coach to see how you can help without biking.

HOW DO I REGISTER?

Athletes can attend 1 practice to see what we are all about, then must register.  Team early registration deadline is April 26th.  Late registration deadline is July 19.  Contact the head coach or director to register.
